Sebastian is 7 years old and he loves swimming, his dogs, Mickey Mouse, and going outside for walks in his wheelchair. He loves to be pushed fast and feel the wind on his face in any of his seating options that have wheels. He laughs so much and says “Go, go!” as we push him fast in his seating. He can’t functionally use his legs to pedal a bike but he sure does have a need for speed!!! He would LOVE the opportunity to go fast and feel the wind on his face as his moms drive him around.

Sebastian has cerebral palsy and some other rare life threatening medical conditions. In December 2021 he started having, grand mal seizures, a new type of seizure for him that came on fast and destructive. The seizures made him lose significant strength in all areas and his ability to eat by mouth and swallow which required him to get emergency g-tube surgery. He had a VERY HARD 2022 because of the seizures that required a few hospitalizations and surgeries and a significant setback in his physical capabilities. BUT, no matter what our strong boy goes through he has never lost his smile. After working with all his wonderful doctors and nurses at Texas Childrens Hospital we have been able to get the seizures under control and his health has been on the mend enough to start focusing on his strength again. After the rough year he had it would be so great to have him feel some normalcy with doing something he loves like feeling the wind on his face as he is driven around on his bike.
